README for the soundfile download directory.

soundfile.tbz2  -- symbolic link to the most recent version of soundfile 
		   in bzip2 tar format.  Uncompress with the command:
			   tar xvjf soundfile.tbz2

soundfile.tgz   -- symbolic lint to the most recent version of soundfile 
		   in gzipped tar format.  Uncompress with the command:
			   tar xvzf soundfile.tgz

soundfile.zip   -- symbolic link to the most recent version of soundfile 
		   in zip format (for Microsoft Windows).  Uncompress in 
		   linux with the command:
			   unzip soundfile.zip

Subdirectories:

bin -- precompiled example programs for various platforms:
bin/osx		      -- Example programs compiled for Apple OSX.
bin/linux-rh9-dynamic -- Examples programs compiled for Red Hat 9.0 shared 
		  	 libraries.
bin/linux-static      -- Example programs compiled statically for linux (more
			 portable, but larger executables).

old -- Archived older versions of the soundfile library.
